Satin vs silk
Satin is a weave. Silk is a fiber. Most “silk pajamas” in an ad are polyester satin with a silk name. We do not do that.
Sleepwear, robes, nightgowns, masks, bonnets, and scrunchies at Vela are signature satin: a fine polyester weave with a quiet sheen, a cold-water wash, and no dry-cleaner ritual. That is the point. You can live in it.
The pillowcase is the exception. It is mulberry silk, because that is the one place real silk earns the price: less friction on hair and skin, night after night.
When silk
